“If you’re anything like me, your alcohol consumption may have increased and your overall “self care” routine decreased in 2020 (especially during quarantine) . Unfortunately, a result of my “It’s 5:00 somewhere” mentality, I struggled with increased depression, anxiety, acne, weight gain, and an over all drab feeling that I couldn’t shake. I wasn’t paying attention to what my body needed and I knew that something needed to change but I felt lost in the shuffle and didn’t really know where to start my journey. Dr. Craig took the time to go over my specific goals and expectations with me before recommending a solution. I just completed my 28 days, and I would be lying if I said that it was easy or there weren’t days I wanted to quit. However, once I hit week 2 and I could see (more importantly FEEL) progress, I knew it was worth pushing on. The sense of accomplishment I feel is the biggest validation. I craved a long list of things that were on the “no fly” list for the detox… most specifically coffee and beer. But with Dr. Craig’s coaching and guidance, I remembered why I started this process in the first place and I couldn’t be happier that I stuck with it. That drab feeling I had is gone, I feel leaner and lighter, and most importantly I can see a positive upward trend in my mental health.

I honestly hope to continue all of the eating habits and tips/tricks that I have learned along the way with Dr. Craig’s help, far into the future. It’s an easy program to follow (trust me, if I can do it anyone can), and the chai flavored shakes are something I actually looked forward to drinking. “Dr. DeFries is a very clear communicator. I felt extremely comfortable throughout every session, and I would swear by the work he did with me. There were moments during the session that were amazing eye opening experiences- not magic, but long used methods that our society seems to have let sleep, in favor of pharmaceutical frenzy. My family and friends all insisted I see a medical doctor because a chiropractor was “just going to make it worse”. Dr. DeFries explained that medical doctors will only prescribe drugs to hide the pain and not heal the problem. Drugs will hide the pain to make it feel better short term and not heal the body to its true state for long term healthy normalcy.
Dr. DeFries’ holistic approach to wellness and healthcare is another positive. He continuously attends seminars and meetings and is always bringing new health approaches, medical advances, health supplements and products to share with his patients.
